Corvettes Rock the Bay - 8th February 2025
We had 120 entrants at this year’s Corvettes Rock the Bay including entrants from Victoria and New South Wales, which certainly filled Wigley reserve. The weather was perfect for a summer’s day.
We held a meet and greet lunch on Saturday at the Junction restaurant for our interstate friends which 22 attend and a pleasant afternoon was had by all.
Sunday morning and we had an early start, in the dark on the oval, with our volunteers setting up the marquees and marking out the display layout, vendor positions, entrance lanes and putting up banners making sure everything was ready for our entrants arrival. .
Our vendors this year were Kiwanis, Shannons, GMSV, REPCO Marion, City Discount Tyres Port Adelaide, Southern Coffee, Don’t Melt Ice Cream, HeartKids, Don’s Woodcarving, Ian’s” Sunglasses & More” , Heartbeat Band and our clubs Corvette Merchandise.
The Band “Heartbeat” entertained us throughout the day, Kiwanis had the BBQ going from early morning and there was a constant line up at the coffee and ice cream vans.
Also on display was John Kostic with his Malibu Corvette speedboat which was a hit and drew in the crowd all day and Malcom Ramsay’s C8 race car another favourite with attendees.
Our club members Ross Spurling and Arthur Hasse had their C36’s on display which were another hit with attendees and entrants alike.
REPCO had a “spin the wheel” competition going which prizes were awarded, and City Discount Tyres Port Adelaide had free merchandise giveaways throughout the day.
We would also like to thank City Discount Tyres Port Adelaide for providing a $250 gift voucher as the Early Bird Entrants prize, won by Peter McBride, congratulations Pete!
Our vendors really enjoyed the day, they were amazed at the number of Corvettes on display and we have had confirmation that REPCO, City Discount Tyres and a few more have already confirmed their attendance at our show next year.
